The Sunrise Granola Company, LLC was born in 2005 in Portland, Oregon. For some years prior, I enjoyed making granola for family and friends during the holidays, gift wrapped in crisp clear bags and glisening silver bows. There is nothing quite like the smell of fresh-baked granola cereal, believe me. Wow! And it was the winter of '04 that I received such positive feedback, even suggestions that I should try to sell the stuff! After extreme boredom set in at my office job, I decided to give it a go. I was quitting my job anyway to go to graduate school, so I had nothing to loose, well, except for fifty pounds of oats and bucket of honey! Many trials and errors later, The Sunrise Granola Company delivers hundreds of delicious gourmet VEGAN & WHEAT-FREE granola bars to coffee shops, food cooperatives, health-food and outdoor adventure stores, specialty markets, and other health-minded outlets.
Our philosophy is simple:

I believe in being good to our Earth, as well as our bodies. This is why in 2008 I began using biodegradable bags. Now I can feel extra good about all the bars that are sold and consumed. These NatueFlex™ bags are certified as compostable under the ASTM D6400 standards, established by Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI). By Summer 2010 I plan to add a compostable label, to make the entire package (bag and label) biodegradable and compostable.
